Immigrated to United States on the ship Ranier from the ports of
Hanau, Wirtenburg, Darmstaat, Eisenberg. Landed in Philadelphia, PA
on Sept. 26, 1749 with his son, Johan Adam Appel and Johannes Appel
(probably a brother.)
More of the family migrated to America in 1764.
Family lived in PA for a few years then moved to MD where they started
a church. Family moved to Guilford Co. NC about 1760-1770.

RICE WILLARD RITES SLATED FOR FRIDAY
Ricely B. Willard, 518 College Avenue, French Lick, died at 7:00 a.m.Wednesday at his home following a lengthy illness . He was 80 years ofage.
Before retirement he was an employee of the French Lick SpringsHotel. He was a member of the E.U.B. Church.
Surviving are two sons, Banks Willard, U. S. Airforce, stationed atGreat Falls, Montana and James Willard of Marion, Ohio; a daughter,Mrs. Lillian Owen of French Lick; five grandchildren, and three greatgrandchildren, his wife Stella preceded his death in March, 1960.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Crecelius at2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Schmutzler Funeral Home, burialwill be in the Moores Ridge Cemetery.
