Notes

A Judge, in 1831 he was elected a member of the House of
Representatives from Dallas County, Alabama and re-elected. In 1838
he was elected President of the Senate. Retired 1840-1842, then
returned to the house in 1842, then withdrew for 15 years. In 1847,
appointed by Governor Martin as Commissioner on the part of Alabama.
Again elected to the Senate in 1857, 1859 and 1861. Again called to
position of presiding officer.
