He may have married Nancy, as his second wife. In the 1850 Carroll,Ark. Census, this Squire was age 45, born Tenn., with the next oldestperson in his household being Nancy Blevins, age 25, born Arkansas. Itis possible that this Nancy was a daughter of Squire, but I believethat the Arkansas birth place provides evidence that she was probablyhis wife, since it is unlikely that Squire was in Arkansas when shewas born ca. 1825. This Squire Blevins was nicknamed "White" Squireto differentiate him from a cousin "Black" Squire Blevins who was bornabout a year earlier and who had a darker complexion. The 1850Carroll County Census indicates that a son John was born in Alabamaca. 1830, and that nine other children born 1834 or later were born inArkansas. A descendant Carolyn Powers has speculated that this Squiremight be closely related to Hugh Armstrong Blevins who was thegrandson of Dillon Blevins. While known research on the DillonBlevins family does not include any mention of Squire, there aresufficient unknowns in that family to make it possible that "WhiteSquire" was a descendant of Dillon and Ann (Armstrong) Blevins.
