On the list of "Cornblossom" descendants, Peter Troxell's death islisted as 1810. I can only suppose that date is based on the folklorethat he was killed along with his father and young bride at themassacre of Yahoo Falls. But we know Peter didn't die in 1810. He ison the tax records of Wayne County [Tax Books of Wayne Co. KY1801-1817, 1819-1825, FHL film#0008269] as well as in the land recordsof Wayne County [Wayne Co. KY Land Records Book B, pg 325, Book C pg67, FHC film#590703 & 590704] until 1819. On the 22nd of March, 1821his widow, Jane Troxell, married Hiram Gregory, [Wayne Co. KYMarriages and Vital Records 1801-1860 by Mildred Moody Nutter, pg.121.] An inventory of his estate is listed in the probate records,[Wayne Co. KY Court Records Appraisements and Inventories vol A-B,1816-1853, film#591562] listing his widow, Jane Troxell Gregory as theadministrator of his estate.
