Botetourt Co. VA in 1773

In 1776, a Cherokee Indian born, named John Looney, (could be an
illegitimate son of our John). This John was a nephew of Chief Emolee.
Served U.S. as Corporal under Andrew Jackson against the Creek
Indians, Dec 1813, wounded at Talladega and pensioned 1842, died 15
May 1846 - Washington, D.C. while acting as a delegate for Indians. He
married in 1815 Betsey, born 1796 (married in the Cherokee Nation).
"Act of Union" signed by John Looney, Acting Chief, et al.
